Our Story

Let Someday Be Now

Tumbleweed Farm and Coffee Co grew out of an idea that started with a dream and turned into a vision. After years of living in a large urban city, we decided it was time for a change. We realized that so many conversations were spent discussing our dreams of where we wanted to be and what we wanted to be doing "someday." There was something about life in the city that just felt disconnected from what we were created for. It seemed we were always talking about finding land, living a quieter life and being good stewards of more of the natural things God created.

We started to discover we weren't the only ones that had this dream. So many of the people we knew had similar stories of "someday." That's when the question was asked, "Why can't we do this now?" The answers to that question came so easily at first. We found every reason to justify staying in the city, waiting until retirement and keeping the dream at arms length. Then 2020 happened. For some, 2020 was a year full of fear, pain and loss and while we experienced some of that as well, we also found a clarity and a purpose that had been simmering beneath the surface for so many years.

When the time came to ask the question, "Why can't we do this now?" The answers didn't come. There was no legitimate, biblical reason to turn away from the vision for our family and the community we wanted to be a part of. The planning started. Lists were made. We knew what we wanted for our family and we set out on the adventure. We had one guiding principle. We would prayerfully petition for doors to be opened or doors to be closed; we would walk faithfully through the ones that were open and patiently wait for direction on ones that were closed.

So here we are, a farmstead and small batch coffee roasting operation. We have specifically sought out the highest quality coffee beans that are ethically sourced and we roast to our standards (we consider ourselves coffee snobs). For now, our desire and hope is that we provide you with an amazing and healthy way to start your day. As we grow, more things will become available so always be on the lookout for new items coming from the farm!

We hope sharing our story will encourage you to think about how to make your "someday" today! In the meantime, we will keep providing you with "another cup of ambition," as fellow Tennessean Dolly Parton would say.

"For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you." - Deuteronomy 8:7-10
